Enterprise Oldham / Rochdale News Letter February 2008
Hi to all Enterprise members and associates,
At long last our first business forum/network meeting as Enterprise Oldham has been arranged.
Its been an hard slog with promised funding being withdrawn after months of waiting and having to do things on a shoestring.
A great thanks to all the members and associates that have given their support. £2 per week is not a lot, but with the help of NDC, The Enterprise Factory, The Acorn Enterprise Factory in Rochdale and MMM it will ensure the continuation of the web and other services.
Our strength is in our numbers and the variety of businesses and services we can offer under the Enterprise banner. So please pass on your recommendations to other organisations and businesses to join us. Word of mouth is the biggest recommendation.
The Meeting is scheduled for February 28th at 6pm, 5:30 buffet.

FORUM
There is now an on-line business forum http://www.enterpriseoldham.co.uk/41.html
Here you can ask any business related questions that will be answered by a business adviser or other members with knowledge of your subject. There will be a delay before your question or answer appears as posts need to be moderated. If anyone would like to be a moderator, let me know, as the more moderators we have the quicker questions and answers will appear. The reason for moderating is that there are scum out there that seem to get off by spamming open systems with garbage. A moderator simply deletes the garbage and OK's relevant information.
TRAINING
I will be there this Thursday morning 7th Feb if anyone needs any help.
I will also be there during the afternoon that will run up to the start of the meeting.
So anyone that needs any help. Bring with you as much information as possible stored on a CD or USB memory stick, ie text and pictures. This will save a great deal of time, building and updating your site.
If you need anything doing quickly email it to me and I'll do as much as I can.
I have found that training sessions often clash with business commitments and members unable to recall the sessions when time permits to work on their web site. One solution is to have the training sessions available 24 hours a day.
So I am now in the process of recording video training sessions that will show you how to build and edit your web site. Starting with the basics of adding text and images, to fine tuning and tips. These will be available via links from the Enterprise Oldham web site.

MEMBERSHIP
There are still some members that have promised to pay their membership and still have not yet done so.
The administration cost to keep raising invoices, sending emails and making telephone calls is a drain on resources that should be spent on members that have been keeping there membership up to date.
Membership is only £2 per week and if payment is not received before the expiry date, then the web site in question will be suspended. It will then be up to the member to contact us and bring their membership up to date.
OTHER BUSINESS
This organisation is here to help you with your business. Your input no matter how small, on how we can help you and others, will help us to streamline our services. Please speak to us at the meeting.
