Waste Awareness Certificate |
In a bid to raise 'waste awareness' among businesses, Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale is offering you the opportunity to attend its accredited Waste Awareness Certificate training course.
Every business that produces, carries, keeps, treats, imports or disposes of waste has legal responsibilities known as the Duty of Care.
The aims of this course are to provide an introduction to waste management including information on your legal responsibilities, together with the knowledge and skills required to effectively manage the waste you produce.
What are the benefits of the course?
-The course is accredited by the CIEH and endorsed by the Environment Agency.
-Develop knowledge of legal responsibilities.
-Understand wider waste management issues.
-Provision of skills and knowledge of how to reduce waste within your company, leading to possible savings in your disposal costs.

CIEH Certificate in Risk Assessment Principles and Practice |
Employers and the self-employed are legally required to assess the risks to health and safety in the workplace. This Risk Assessment course is designed to help individuals perform workplace risk assessments and is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH).
What does the course involve?
Delegates are required to attend a full day's training and undertake, in their own time, a risk assessment of a suitable workplace activity, a report describing the methods used to carry out the assessment and complete a self-assessment record. This course is suitable for candidates with some prior knowledge of health and safety.
What will the course cover?
This training will enable employers and employees to conduct, record and review risk assessments in their workplaces, helping to meet legal requirements and improving standards of health and safety.
The course covers the following topics:
-Principles of risk assessment
-Risk assessment legislation
-Risk assessment in practice
